"NEWSOM" Richardson was born in England, emigrated to New York City as a construction foreman. He moved to Stratford, Ontario, Canada and remained in Canada until his death.

He died from injuries he sustained when a tree fell on him.

1st wife, ANN, surname unknown (unable to find her maiden name in Perth County Records)
assumption: Heptonstall, died in 1863 after the birth of son John Walter Richardson at Stratford, Ontario, Canada. A daughter, Grace Cosens 1864, is shown on the same gravestone with Ann.

Newsom remarried in 1866 to Mary Seaton/Seton. They had 9 children: Grace Ellen "Nellie," Alfred Seton, Charlotte, Bessie, Harry, Michael Newsom, Paulina, Elizabeth, Frederick 'Fred'

Daughter Paulina Mary "Polly" md Henry Yates Jones, they moved from Saskatchewan to England to farm on Henry's father's estate about 1907. Several years after Henry Sr's death in 1911, they packed up the children and moved to South Africa where Henry Jr ranched and set up a trading post. Settling in Choma, Zambia.
