Beva H. Lewis, 79-year-old resident of 623 H street, died at 3:50 p.m. Thursday at the Sunny Acres Nursing Home, where she was admitted last January. She had been in failing health for seven months.
She was born August 20, 1881 in Vigo County near Terre Haute to Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Wible. She was united in marriage to Frank Lewis, who preceded her in death, August 15, 1956.
Survivors include two sons, Stanley Lewis of Bedford and Clyde Lewis of Tucson, Arizona; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. G.W. Inman, LaJunta, Colorado and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Lewis attended the Christian Church at Tucson, Arizona.
Last rites will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Englewood Baptist Church with the Rev. Richard Kern, pastor of the church officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Hill Cemetery under the direction of the Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home. The casket will be taken to the church at 9:30 a.m. Monday to lie in state until the funeral hour. Friends may call at the Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home after noon Sunday. The casket will not be opened after the service.
