Evelyn M. Grebel, 89, formerly of Grand Rapids, Mich., died Tuesday in a local nursing home. Graveside services will be at 1 pm Monday in Rosedale Memorial Park in Grand Rapids, Mich. with the Rev. Tom Flickinger officiating, directed by Cook Funeral Home of Grandville Mich. Local arrangements are being made by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory. Ms. Grebel was born in Grand Rapids, Mich. and graduated from high school in Rockford Mich. in 1926. She attended Michigan State University in East Lansing and graduated in 1943 from Gail Business College. She worked as a curator of education for the city of Grand Rapids, Mich. for 32 years. She moved to Abilene in 1978 and was a member of St Mary's Parish in Grand Rapids Mich. Survivors indude one brother, Robert J. Grebel of Holland, Mich., two sisters, Mildred Rowley of Grand Rapids, Mich. and Marian Myers of Wyoming, Mich., and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Memorials may be sent to West Texas Rehabilitation Center, 4601 Hartford, Abilene 79605 Visitation will be from 2-4 pm Friday at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home.
