Very little is known about Laura and her family except that her husband was a merchant, and that her father, David-5 Calvin Warner Jr., son Hiram D.-7 Warner, and some other Warner family members were bakers, or "confectioners", along with her husband, Eugene Smith, as well as farmers.

Laura was alive in 1900 and lived in Brooklyn, NY, according to the obituary printed for her sister Amanda (Warner) Donnelly in Mason, Ingham, MI.
