Maurine Alberta Drake, 92, of White Oak died Nov. 5, 2006. She was born Feb. 5, 1914, in White Oak to Albert Y. and Julia E. LaShells Drake. She was a 1933 graduate of Springdale High School and Fayetteville Business College and successfully passed the civil service exam. She accepted a position with the U.S. Department of Treasury in Washington in 1940. She retired in 1972 from the Internal Revenue Service. After retirement, she accepted a position in the office of the secretary of the U.S. Department of Treasury as a consultant and adviser. She continued working there until 1979. Her hobbies included traveling, art and photography.

Survivors include one brother, Gail Drake of Rogers; one sister, Twila Mae Burson of Claremore, Okla.; sister-in-law, Bonnie Drake of Springfield, Mo.; sister-in-law, Annabel Drake of Springdale.

A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. today at White Oak Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rice Funeral Service in Claremore.
