Lorena had her share of illnesses including diabetes. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in early 1998 and began chemo treatments, surgery, then more chemo and radiation treatments. After this the doctor felt they had gotten it all. She had trouble again in August of 1999 and after many tests was diagnosed with breast cancer in the liver. After several chemo treatments the cancer still advanced and infected 95% of her liver. She couldn't fight anymore and died on November 15, 1999 in her home surrounded by her family.
