1920 Wedding Article:
"Ruth M'Cleary weds Chas. D. Mills"

A pretty wedding took place in the home of the bride yesterday afternoon at 3 o'clock when Miss Ruth G. McCleary, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. Scott McCleary and Charles Dickinson Mills, song of Irving P. Mills of Montclair, NJ, were joined in wedlock by Rev. C.M. Smail, pastor of the First Christian church performing the ceremony before an improvised alter of palms and ferns.
Miss McCleary, who was unattended wore a wedding dress of white taffeta and Georgette combined and carried a showed bouquet of white Killarney rosebuds and baby chrysanthemums. Miss McCleary descended the staircase on the arm of the groom to the strains of Mendelssohn, which was rendered by Miss Marion Keefer of Altoona, PA, a school friend of the bride.
The ceremony which was performed before the immediate families and a few intimate friends of the young couple were followed by the congratulatory period after which a buffet lunch was served. Later in the afternoon Mr. and Mrs. Mills left on their honeymoon which will include Cleveland and other points of interest.
In traveling Mrs. Mills wore a becoming suit of brown velvet with accessories to correspond. After their return to this city, Mr. and Mrs. Mills will reside for the present with the bride's parents on Grant Street.
Miss Nell Bigley of Lima, O., caught the bride's bouquet. Miss McCleary chose as her wedding day the 16th anniversary of her sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Tully of Moody avenue.
Both young people are popular in the younger social circles of this city. Miss McCleary is a graduate of the New Castle High school in the class of 1915, and Mr. Mills from the Carnegie Tech in the class of '19. Mr. Mills holds a responsible position with the Carnegie Steel mill of this city in the capacity of Steam Efficiency Engineer.
The guests from a distance were several school friends of the bride including Miss Marion Keefer of Altoona, P.A., Miss Helen Hillery of Burlington, Iowa, Miss Callie Hunter of Paris, Ill., Miss Nell Bigley and Miss Bess Sharpley of Lima, O., Miss Christina Fischer of Ellwood City, Mrs. Raymond Fagley of Philadelphia, Mr. Irving P.
