James Whitney Dunn was a Lieutenant in the United States Navy and a veteran of World War II. He and his wife, Pauline, had five children and resided in Oakland County, Michigan. Whitney was quite creative, having built a very elaborate model train display in the basement, complete with mountains, snow, trees, houses, and other miniature items. After Pauline died in 2000, he moved to Florida and lived near one of his sons. He was laid to rest with full military honors in 2005.

Whitney's beloved daughter-in-law passed on July 10, 2011. A link to her memorial is listed below.
