DEATH OF MRS. ELMER MURPHEY ¬ - Mrs. Alta Murphey of Malta died about five o'clock Monday evening, following a two weeks illness from flu and pneumonia. She was a daughter of William and Mary McPeak McElfresh of Pennsville route, and was born on June 11, 1897. On December 30, 1915, she was united in marriage with Elmer Murphey and one daughter, Freda Grace, aged 11 years, was born to this union. Mrs. Murphey was of a kind and loving disposition and was devoted to her home and family. Surviving are the parents, the husband, daughter, one sister, Mrs. Ernest Elliott of McConnelsville, and a brother, Howard McElfresh, of Malta. One brother, Russell, died in infancy. Mrs. Murphey united with the Zion Methodist church and belonged to the Malta Rebekah Lodge. Funeral services were held at two o'clock yesterday afternoon at the Main St. Church of Christ, conducted by Elder C.H. Morin, with burial in the Malta Cemetery.
