Ricky Ray Jensen, age 40 of rural Pine River, passed away Monday afternoon, March 28, 2011 at Riverside Medical Center in Waupaca. Ricky had battled pneumonia for the past 6 weeks.

He was born January 14, 1971 in Berlin, the son of Orval L. and Joyce E (Spiegel) Jensen.

Ricky had lived in the Town of Leon, rural Pine River for his entire life. He was a life-long member of Emmaus Evangelical Lutheran Church in Poy Sippi, where he was Baptized, attended Sunday School, and was Confirmed.

He attended T.M.R. Classes in Wild Rose for 12 years. Ricky participated in the Wisconsin Special Olympics for many years. His favorite event was archery. He also participated in basketball, the long jump, the softball throw, bowling, and other track events. He earned many gold medals, other medals, and ribbons in these events. Ricky also enjoyed making many latch hook kits.

Ricky was very well liked. He was a gentle and soft spoken person. Christmas was his favorite holiday.

He was a life-long, faithful member of Emmaus Evangelical Lutheran Church in Poy Sippi. He enjoyed attending Church Services. Church was number one for him. Ricky was also a member of the Omro Bow Hunters Club, the Berlin Conservation Club, and the Winnebago Archers.

Survivors include his mom and dad, Joyce and Orval Jensen of rural Pine River; a sister, Debra Jensen of Lohrville (Redgranite); his foster aunt and uncle, Terry and Joann Innerebner of Wittenberg.

He is also survived by other foster aunts and uncles, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and many dear friends.

Ricky was preceded in death by his brother, Jimmy Jensen; his grandparents, John and Irene Jensen, and Leonard and Emmagene Spiegel; his foster grandparents, Art and Gladys Leiskau; his uncle, Louis Jensen, and his aunt, Elizabeth Spiegel.

Funeral Services for Ricky Ray Jensen were held Thursday, March 31st. at 10:30 a.m. at Emmaus Evangelical Lutheran Church, N4494 Highway 49 at County H in Poy Sippi. The Rev. Mark R. Meier, Sr. officiated.

Following these Services, Ricky was laid to rest in the Poy Sippi Cemetery.
