NASH. -
At the residence of L.J. Nash, Esq., on Saturday, Nov. 27, Francis
Nash, aged 82 years. Mr. Nash was of Connecticut ancestry, one of
whom according to family tradition helped to lay out the town plat
of Hartford. He was born in 1804 in Columbia county, near Albany,
N.Y. In 1811 with his parents he moved into the wilderness of western
New York. In 1851 he moved to Wisconsin and settled on a farm on Rock
Prairie about five miles from Janesville. On this farm he lived and
remained in sole charge until he completed his 75th year. Since that
time he has lived for the most part with his only daughter, Mrs. Case,
who is known to some Manitowoc people. He leaves surviving him his
widow, six sons and one daughter.
