Helen Louise Ulvestad, 74, Cloquet, died Wednesday, Nov. 5, 1986, in Community Memorial Hospital. She was born July 15, 1912, in Cloquet and was a lifelong resident of the Cloquet area. She formerly owned and managed the Hotel Solem in Cloquet. She was a graduate of St. Olaf College and a member of the Sons of Norway, Cloquet Gospel Tabernacle, and American Association of University Women. Surviving are two daughters, Patricia (Don) Hampton of Spokane, Washington, and Marguerite (Charles) Moore of White Bear Lake, Minnesota; a son, Richard, and a sister, Lillian (Verner) Kultula, both of Cloquet; and six grandchildren. There was no visitation. Memorial services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 8, in Cloquet Gospel Tabernacle. The Rev. Virgil Rasmussen officiated, organist was Ellen Lane, and soloist was Ted Hall. Cremation was in Park Hill Cemetery, Duluth. Burial was at Maple Grove Cemetery, Cloquet. Arrangements were by the Wefelmeyer Funeral Home, Cloquet.
