DIXIE LEE ADKINS, 71, of Proctorville, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2003, in Wayne Continuous Care. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 17, 2003, at Hall Funeral Home by the Rev. Don Phillips. Burial will follow in Rome Cemetery, Proctorville, Ohio. She was born June 10, 1931, in East Lynn, W.Va., daughter of the late Fletcher and Pinkie Adkins Drenner. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Chet W. Adkins and a daughter, Linda J. Smith. She was a retired LPN from Huntington Hospital. Survivors include her son-in-law, Charles Smith of Proctorville, Ohio; two sisters, Mary Clark of Wayne, W.Va., and Alice Sue Finlay of Ashland, Ky.; two brothers, Bill Drenner and Bennie Drenner, both of Wayne, W.Va.; a grandson, Chuck and his wife Kristie Smith of Crown City, Ohio; a granddaughter, Christina and her husband Carlos Monge of Proctorville; special great-granddaughter, Arianna Smith; and a host of nieces and nephews.
