MRS. THOMAS S. WILSON, OF GIBBS, DIES SUDDENL
Mrs. Thomas S. Wilson died suddenly at her home in Gibbs last night at 10 o'clock, aged 63 years. She had not been well for several days. Last night shortly after retiring she complained of a smothering sensation and died before medical aid could be summoned. Death was due to heart trouble.
Funeral arrangements have not been made, pending word from relatives.
Mrs. Wilson's maiden name was Miss Della [sic] Bumpus. She was the daughter of Captain A. F. and Cathernie [sic] Talbert Bumpus, and was born in Adair county Dec. 8, 1866 on the old Bumpus homestead which is located on Highway 63, two miles north of LaPlata. She was united in marriage Feb. 24, 1892, to Thomas S. Wilson. To this marriage three children were born: Mrs. Dale N. Benner, Mrs. T. O. Ritchey, and Virgil Wilson, all of Gibbs. She also reared to womanhood a niece who is now Mrs. Ruby Holmes Davidson of near LaPlata. There is one granddaughter.
Besides the husband and children, Mrs. Wilson leaves seven brothers: Thomas R. Bumpus, of Brighton, Colo.; Charles Bumpus, of Orange, Calif.; J. W. Bumpus, of San Francisco; Dr J. F. Bumpus and Dr. G. W. Bumpus, both of Denver, Colo; W. E. Bumpus, of Holten, Kas. and Glen B. Bumpus, of Pasadena, Calif.
Mr. and Mrs. Wilson had lived in the vicinity of Gibbs the greater part of their married life. Mrs. Wilson was a likeable woman and had many friends. She was a member of one of the oldest and best known families in southern Adair county.
