Jeanne R. Kenison, 82, of Boise, formerly of Mountain Home, died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007, at a Boise hospital.

Jeanne was born in Florence, Colo., on Sept. 24, 1925, to Walter Bonney and Gretchen Olivia(Roller) Bonney. The family, which included a surviving sister, Cecile Peterson, and brother, Lyman Bonney, later moved to Emmett.

Jeanne spent most of her childhood in Emmett and later attended Boise High School. Jeanne continued her education in Spokane attending airplane mechanics school and later went to work at Gowen Field during World War II. "She was very proud of her opportunity to take an active part in the country's war efforts," her family said.

She married Delbert Leonard Riggins on 22 Feb 1944
in Boise, Idaho. They divorced on 23 Sep 1949 in Ada County, Idaho.

In later years she worked in Boise and Mountain Home as a waitress.

Jeanne and her husband, Dean Kenison, raised a bountiful vegetable garden every year that was shared with family and friends, her family said, adding that "she loved jitterbug dancing, canning, cooking, and making homemade bread for her family. Many joyful memories were created around the dinner table. Her grandchildren often teased that they would always remember her for her cheese rolls. "Jeanne had a strong and loving spirit and her family and friends will miss her greatly," they said.

survivors' names omitted per findagrave policy.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dean, and her daughter, Elaine Hunt.
