Lloyd E. ‘Butch' Gibbons, 71, of Niagara Falls, NY, entered into rest on Tuesday, November 11, 2008 in the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Buffalo, NY, following a brief illness. Born on January 8, 1937 in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late Mack and Pearl (Beatty) Gibbons. On July 7, 1990 he married the former Judith C. ‘Judy' Pembleton, who was his longtime companion of many years prior to their marriage.

Mr. Gibbons was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, NY and attended local schools. Lloyd served in the United States Army from January 6, 1955 until his honorable discharge on December 4, 1957. Butch worked as a fabricator for REBCO Steel and Buffalo Structural Steel Corp. In 1999, he retired from Certified Fab. Mr. Gibbons was a coin collector. Lloyd enjoyed camping and bowling.

In addition to his longtime companion and wife, Judith, Mr. Gibbons is survived by three children, Edward Gibbons of Milwaukee, WI, Carrie (Shawn) Wcislo of Niagara Falls, NY and Joel (Katina) Gibbons of Clarksville, TN; one step-son, Roger Pembleton of Niagara Falls, NY; eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Lloyd is also survived by three brothers and three sisters, Albert (Edith) Gibbons of St. Petersburg, FL, Frances Gibbons of the Town of Niagara, NY, Richard (Caroline) Gibbons of Niagara Falls, NY, Dorothy (late Russell) Lounsbury of Niagara Falls, NY, Mary (late William) Seelbinder of Niagara Falls, NY and Sam (Marsia) Gibbons of Niagara Falls, NY and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one step-son, Kelly Pembleton; two brothers, James and Robert Gibbons and one sister, Ruth Peyatt.
