Mr. Jackson, a retired Air Force Master Sergeant, served in the U.S. Marines from 1943-45, participating in the Sicily invasion, Anzio beachhead, and the invasion of southern France. His tour with the Air Force extended from 1947-67, during which time he engaged in the Berlin Airlift after WWII, and contributed to the military support operation in Vietnam.
Surviving was his wife, Emma Jean Jackson; two sons, James Allen Jackson of Goldsboro, and Robert Gale Jackson of Carrollton, Ga.; two daughters, Deborah Grace Jackson Vinson, and Donna Jean Jackson Sheppard; a brother, the late Earnest K. Jackson of Frederick, Maryland; a number of aunts and uncles living in the Frederick area.
Funeral services and burial with military honors were held Friday, February 21, 1975 in Goldsboro, North Carolina.
