Carr, Alta "Jane" (Howard), 76, passed away, Saturday, April 2, 2011, at Medicalodge of Douglass.

Jane was born May 24, 1934, to Fred and Ethel (Wheeler) Howard in Rock, Kansas. Jane retired as a legal secretary from McConnell Air Force Base. She once owned and operated The Rock Cafe in Rock, Kansas.

Survivors include her son Alan Carr of Kansas City, Missouri; and a daughter Becky (Mark) Hall of Augusta; brother Lloyd (Vera) Howard of Douglass, Kansas; sisters Pauline Houser of Arkansas City, Kansas, Edna Maness of Bonner Springs, Kansas, Mildred Maddox of Wichita, Catherine (Jack) Meyer of Rock, Kansas, Ann (Ray) Tabor of Clearwater, Florida; sister-in-law Bea Howard of Saraland, Alabama; two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Raymond and Paul Howard and a granddaughter Gracie Jane Hall.

Viewing will be from 1-5 with visitation following on Wednesday, April 6, from 5-7 p.m. Funeral service will be Thursday, April 7, at 10:30 a.m. both in the Dunsford Funeral Home Chapel. Interment in the Douglass Cemetery.

A memorial fund has been established with Heartland Hospice in care of the funeral home.
