He was the son of the late Charles E. Broughton, Sr. Surviving are: mother, Mary J. Broughton of Portsmouth; wife Angel D. Broughton; 3 daughters: Bonnie Houck & husband James, Cyntha Cox, & Kendall Austin & husband Wayne; 5 grandchildren: Mark Reynolds, Jamie Brown, C. B. Houck, Jessica & Rowdy Austin.
