Vashti Scamahorn Saltzman passed away February 2, 2005 at the age of 100. She was Born Aug 16, 1904 in Wheatcroft, Ky to John and Sarah Henson Scamahorn. She went to live with her aunt and uncle shortly after her mother died. She married her husband Vogel Kincheloe Saltzman on Dec 10, 1925 and spent her life in Mt. Vernon, Indiana. She was a homemaker and raised 5 children. During her final years she was active at the Mount Vernon Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, she enjoyed church outings, music, bingo, quilting, her family, and sewing. The family would like to thank the Mount Vernon Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She is survived by her daughter Betty (Donald) Reinitz of Mt. Vernon, Judy (Carl) Redman of Mt. Vernon, and her son Jerry (Sharon) Saltzman of New Harmony. 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by husband Vogel, Daughter Patty Hast, Son James Donald Saltzman, and Grandson Darrell Newman; four sisters and a brother. Services were held at Schneider Funeral Home with burial at Bellefontaine Cemetery in Mt. Vernon.
