Lamar (L.P.) Cooper
Gaffney, SC – Lamar (L.P.) Poole Cooper, 84, formerly of 721 10th street, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at Brookview Healthcare. Born in Gaffney, he was the widower of Ann Hughey Cooper and the son of the late Lewis Pate Cooper and Annie Elizabeth White Cooper. Mr. Cooper was a United States Navy World War II Veteran and was retired from Limestone Mills. Mr. Copper was a member of Temple Baptist Church. Surviving is a son, Bryan Douglas Cooper of the home; two brothers, Olin Cooper and special friend, Diane McCullough of Gaffney and F. David Cooper and wife, Jimmie of Cowpens; and a sister, Colleen Faye Cooper of Gaffney. Mr. Cooper was preceded in death by a brother, Lewis Dean Cooper; and three sisters, Cleo Cooper Dietz, Edith Goodspeed and Eleane Rice. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, April 4, 2011 at Draytonville Baptist Church Cemetery with Mr. Ashby Blakely officiating. The family will receive friends immediately after the service at the cemetery
