Bob was born January 27, 1927 in Baxter Springs, Kan., the son of Pinkston James and Shermie (Leggett) Case.
He served in the U.S. Army and served as a WW2 veteran from 1944-1945. He worked for K-12 meat market for 20 years and in 1968 he bought and operated Columbus Meat Company retiring in 1991. He married Jean Lucille Milholland of Baxter in 1948 and she preceded him in death in 1992. He married Emma Lou (Wyrick) Hale in 1994.
He was an active member and deacon at the Calvary Baptist Church in Columbus. Bob was an avid hunter, fisherman, bowler and all around handyman. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and family man.
Bob was also preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Timothy Robert Case; son-in-law Steve Vanzant; brother, James Pinkston Case and sister, Betty Wimmer.
He is survived by his wife, Emma Lou of the home; two sons, Larry Case and wife Sherry of Webb City and Timothy Case and wife Sara of Columbus; a daughter, Suzanne Vanzant Ladas and husband Nicholas of Hollywood, Fla.; step-son, Ronald Hale and Patty of Columbus; step-daughter, Teressa West and husband Robert of Columbus; nine grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Murdock Chapel with Pastor Bill Peters and Pastor Todd McClean officiating. Interment will follow in Baxter Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be 7 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday. Memorials may be made to Hospice Compassus of Pittsburg with Murdock Funeral Home, 132 E. Pine, Columbus, KS 66725.
