Her husband J. Stamper Wallace joined the C.S.A. company A, Rosser's Regiment, Raine's Division, on June 16, 1861. At the time his company surrendered on June 8, 1865 at Shreveport, he was a 1st Lieutenant. Was awarded the Southern Cross of Honor by the Independence Missouri Chapter of the U.D.C. in 1906. Nannie B. Wallace accepted the award since J. Stamper Wallace was no longer living at that time. Buried next to her husband J. Stamper Wallace.
