The youngest child of Nellie (Fayette) and Lorenzo Mead Wood, Grace was born on Nov. 13, 1924, in Chasm Falls, NY.
Following high school graduation, she began her career in food service.
She married Thomas B. Cooley in 1945 and they moved to Santa Monica, CA. They divorced in the early 1960s. Later she met and married Louis Edward Easley.
An avid camper, Grace fell in love with Southern Oregon while at Lake of the Woods. She moved to Oregon and worked at the Lake of the Woods Lodge and Harriman Lodge and later purchased Whispering Pines at Rocky Point. She also worked at Kingsley Field and eventually became the kitchen manager at Oregon Institute of Technology, retiring in 1989.
Grace enjoyed traveling and made annual trips to New York and New Jersey to visit friends and family. She liked traveling to the British Isle and her favorite getaway was spending a few months in Hawaii.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Survivors include her son, Tom Cooley; grandchildren and their spouses, Ryan and Misty Cooley and Taryn and Dr. Christian Kaufman; great-grandchildren, Daniel and Chloe; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Irene Cooley; her husband, Louis Edward Easley, and 10 siblings.
