LeRoy is the third of six children to Peter Paul and Lavina Mary (Hergott) Mather. He married Yvonne Vera 'Bonnie' Ohnsorg on March 29, 1952 at Sacred Heart Church in Two Rivers (Manitowoc), WI. They had 4 children: Steve, Gwen, Timothy Brian, and Pam.

LeRoy "Lee" Mather, 77, of Shakopee, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Sept. 7, 2008 at St. Gertrude's in Shakopee.

He was born on May 20, 1931 in Hopkins to Peter and Lavina (Hergott) Mather.

Loved and forever missed by his loving wife of 56 years, Yvonne "Bonnie" (Ohnsorg) Mather; children, Steve (Heidi) Mather, Gwen (Gary) Solseth, Tim Mather and Pam (Brian) Sunder. He will be greatly missed by his eight grandchildren, Sonja, Erik, Sara, Sam, Erin, Aubrie, Kelly and AJ; and four great-grandchildren, Alexandra, Isaak, Connor and Macy; as well as his siblings, Rosella (Norville) Schuette, Arlene (Tom) Jensen, Lorraine Cully, Peter (Judy) Mather; many nieces and nephews, friends, and his "million-dollar dog" and best friend, Maddi. Preceded in death by sister, Yvonne (Jim) Bingham.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Catholic Order of Forresters, International Brotherhood of Iron Workers 512. He was an avid outdoorsman who liked to hunt fish, camp and garden. He loved to coach hockey and was instrumental in bringing the first outdoor youth hockey arena to Shakopee.

Memorial service was held Wednesday, Sept. 10, at 11 a.m. with visitation two hours prior to service at Ballard-Sunder Funeral Home, Shakopee. Pallbearers included A.J. Sunder, Brian Sunder, Erik Solseth, Sam Mather, Paul Ohnsorg, Gary Solseth, Mike Bingham, Bryon Bingham. Interment at Shakopee Catholic Cemetery, Shakopee.

Memorials are preferred to the Brain Injury Association of MN, 34 13th Avenue N.E., Suite B001, Minneapolis, Minn. 55413.

Funeral arrangements were with the Ballard-Sunder Funeral Home, Shakopee, (952) 445-1202. www.ballardsunderfuneral.com
