Harvey C. Hameister, 72, of 2122 N. 11th St., husband of Bernice, died Saturday morning, May 11, 1996 at Sunny Ridge Nursing Center, where he had been a resident for the past three months.
Bom June 2, 1923 in the Town of Herman, Harvey was a son of Edwin and Emma Neuhaus Hameister. He attended Washington School in Ada and was confirmed at Bethel United Church of Christ, Town of Schleswig. He served in the U.S. Army during W.W. II.
On Sept. 14, 1946, he married Bernice H. Buchholz at Bethlehem United Church of Christ, Town of Schleswig. The couple moved to Sheboygan in 1956 from Howards Grove.
Harvey was employed at the Vollrath Company for 38 years, retiring in 1988 and was a member of the Vollrath Quarter Century Club. He was a member of Ebenezer United Church of Christ and the Franklin American Legion Post No. 387.
He enjoyed woodworking, camping and fishing.
Harvey is survived by his wife, Bernice; two daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce and Jerome Blomberg, Jr., Dwight, III.; Marlene and William Fisher, Sheboygan; a son and his friend, James and Gail, Sheboygan; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a brother, Walter, Sheboygan; a sister-in-law, Vera Zenk, Sheboygan; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four infant grandchildren, a brother and sister.
Funeral services for Harvey C. Hameister will be at 8 p.m., Monday, May 13 (TODAY), at Lippert Funeral Home, 1132 Superior Ave. The Rev. Randall Brakemeyer, pastor of Ebenezer United Church of Christ, will officiate. A memorial service by American Legion Post No. 387 will precede the funeral service at 6 p.m. Following cremation, interment will be in Eaton Cemetery, Town of Eaton. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m., Monday (TODAY).
