Lucille A. Poppe, 86, formerly of 1920 Mason St., New Holstein, a resident of the Calumet Homestead, in New Holstein since September of 1987, passed away Saturday, June 3, 1989 at the Homestead.
She was born in Kiel, Wisconsin on March 12, 1903, daughter the late Mr. and Mrs. William Strassman. On February 24, 1923, she marred Harry Poppe in Chilton. He preceded her in death on December 26, 1968. She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, New Holstein.
Survivors include two sons, Harold, Appleton and Lawrence, of New Holstein: one daughter, Mrs. Fern (Elzer) Coe, of Shiocton; five grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, also four brothers, Clarence, of Howards Grove; Elmer Strassman, New Holstein; Howard, of Chilton and Kenneth, of School Hill; one sister Mrs. Jennie Rabe, of New Holstein; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Rose Strassman, of Brillion. She was preceded in death by one grandson, Gerald Coe and one brother, Harry Strassman.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, at 2 p.m. from the Erbe-Evjen Funeral Home, in New Holstein, the Rev. Albert Borns officiating. Burial will be in Eaton Cemetery, Manitowoc County.
Friends may call at the Erbe Evjen Funeral Home, in New Holstein, Monday, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m, and from 10 a.m. until time of the services on Tuesday.
