NORFOLK - Colon H. Baker, 94, of the 2400 block of Myrtle Ave., died Jan. 18, 1998.
Born in the Berkley area of Norfolk, she was a retired cosmetologist and a member of First Baptist Church Berkley. Mrs. Baker was predeceased by her husband, Neal Baker and her son, Lester A. King.
Survivors include two sisters, Elsie Hewitt of Norfolk, Sarah Cooke of Richmond; a grandson, Lester K. McKay of Virginia Beach; a great-grandson, Dimitri McKay of Virginia Beach; two cousins, Odessa James of Norfolk, Willie James of Norfolk; two sisters-in-law, Helen C. Hill of Hampton, Lillie R. Hill of Richmond; a former daughter-in-law, Juanita K. McKay of Virginia Beach; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at noon Thursday in First Baptist Church Berkley by the Rev. William Tyree III. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. the day of the service. Viewing will be from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. today in Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake.
