Charles Kimball Fletcher (1902-1985)

U.S. Congressman. He graduated from Stanford University of California, in 1924, also attended Pembroke College, Oxford University, in England, in 1934. He then engaged in the savings and loan business and was president of the Home Federal Savings & Loan Association, San Diego County, (1934-59). During World War II, he served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Naval Reserves, (1943-45). In 1947, he was elected as a Republican to the Eightieth Congress, serving until 1949. An unsuccessful candidate for reelection, he returned to his banking interest and was a member of California Commission on Correctional Facilities and Services, (1955-57). He died in retirement from cancer at age 82.
