Flavius Boniface Steinhauser, 83, of Tiffin, died at 4:15 p.m. on Monday, October 22, 2000 at Autumnwood Care Center. He was born in New Riegel to Joseph and Philomena (Huss) Steinhauser on September 5, 1917. On June 21, 1941 he married Irene Marie Smith at St. Joseph Catholic Church. She survives in Tiffin.

Other survivors include 2 daughters, Mrs. Terry (Mary Ann) Lutes-Walton and Mrs. Darl (Jane) Elchert; 1 sister, Blandina McCarthy; 5 Grandchildren; 6 Great-Grandchildren; 1 Step Grandchild; and 1 Step Great-Grandchild.

He was preceded by 4 brothers, Paul, Clarence, Norbert, and Ralph Steinhauser and 3 sisters, Thekla Elchert, Louise Juenemann, and Marcella Alt.

He was a 1935 New Riegel High School graduate and a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. He retired after 31 years as a machine operator at Ford-Autolite in Fostoria and was a member of United Auto Workers.

There will be a Wake Service at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Rosary will be recited 15 minutes prior the the funeral Mass and burial will take place at St. Boniface Cemetery, New Riegel, immediately following the Mass.

Contributions may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church, School of Opportunity, or Seneca County Dialysis Center.
