DIES LAST NIGHT

George Macon Henderson, 80, lifelong resident of Floyd County, died at 11:20 o'clock Sunday night in a Rome hospital.

He had been in declining health for 18 months, but his death came suddenly following an attack suffered a few minutes earlier.

Born in Floyd County on October 29, 1883. Mr. Henderson was the son of the late James Monroe and Maggie Jones Henderson. He was a retired carpenter and a member of the Lindale Methodist Church.

Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Frank P. Sisson and Mrs. Richard Ware, both of Lindale, Mrs. Herbert Gilbreath, of Atlanta, Mrs. James Tillery and Mrs. E. M. Callaway, both of Lindale; three sons, Clifford Henderson, of Lindale, Paul Henderson, of Maple Road, and Jack Henderson, of Rome; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 4 o'clock Tuesday afternoon in the Lindale Methodist Church, with the pastor, the Rev. J. W. Eberhardt, officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hope Cemetery.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers, and include Howard Sisson, David Sisson, Dan Ware, James Ware, Hugh Ware, Gary Henderson and Michael Callaway.

The body will lie in state at Henderson-Frazier Funeral Home until 3 o'clock Tuesday afternoon when it will be moved to the church to lie in state until time for the funeral services.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 o'clock to 9 o'clock tonight. At other hours they will be at the home of a son, Paul Henderson, 3001 Maple Rd.
