Bob's only son, David, was killed in a drunk driving accident (he was the victim, not the drinker). Shortly thereafter, Bob started to act strangely. His doctors attributed the aberrations to his grief. It turns out he really had glioblastoma, a kind of brain tumor. He died, although the delay in treatment probably didn't matter much in the end because treatment for brain tumors wasn't very advanced in the 1960s.
Margaret later remarried but Bob was the guy she really loved until the end. She talked about him constantly and missed him.
I don't have any pictures of Bob or David. It's sad. I hope one day at least one person can contribute something else about Bob-- I think he deserves at least that much.
