Oge lee Thomas Smith Stephens,
60, of Oneida, died late Sunday evening, November 20, 1994, at the East Tennessee Baptist Hospital in Knoxville. She was born in Scott County on May 28, 1934. She was the daughter of the late Sylvester Thomas and the late Ellen Foster Thomas. She also was preceded in death by her first husband, John Alfred Smith, and her second husband, Walter McKinley Stephens; one infant child and one brother, Hilary Thomas. She was a homemaker and a housewife nearly all her life. She was of the Baptist faith. She is survived by two daughters: Ruby Sexton of Oneida and Mary Lou Smith of Winfield; four sons: Harrison Smith, Roy Lee Smith, Lillard Smith and Marshal Smith, all of Oneida; 19 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Stringfield of Sunbright, Tenn.; one brother, Silos Thomas of Covington Ky.; four step-sons: William O. Stephens; Walter M. Stephens and wife, Tonya; Charles S. Stephens and wife, Ruby; and Thomas G. Stephens and wife, Sheila, all of Oneida; five step-daughters: Carol D. Privett and husband, Claude; Geneda Jones and husband, Bill; Vicky Smitty and husband, Dexter; Mary Keith and Shirley Parson, all of Oneida; 39 step-grandchildren; 19 step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services were held Wednesday at the West-Murley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bob Anderson and Rev. David Troxel officiating. Burial was in the Foster Cemetery in the Tunnel Hill Community. West-Murley Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.r Stephens.
