REBA BERNICE "ADERHOLT" WHEELER

Reba Bernice "Aderholt" Wheeler, the daughter of the late John Blain Aderholt and Maude Ethel "Day" Aderholt was born June 30, 1921, in Durant, Oklahoma. She went to be with the Lord on April 6, 2011, in Amarillo, Texas, at the age of 89 years.

Reba was raised in Mead, Oklahoma. This is where Reba attended and graduated from high school. After high school, Reba attended Southeastern State College, in Durant, Oklahoma, Reba received her teaching degree there.

Reba was united in marriage to J.L. Wheeler, on March 21, 1943, at Durant, Oklahoma. To this union five children were born, Larry, Carol, Evan Everett and Paul.

Reba and Doc lived in Corpus Christi, Texas and San Diego, California, while Doc was in the service. While Doc was in medical School, Reba taught school in Oklahoma City. Reba taught art in both Oklahoma City and Marlow, Oklahoma. The family moved to Texhoma, Oklahoma in 1952 and to Boise City in 1959 and have made their home there every since. Reba taught junior high science, in Boise City until she retired in 1986.

Reba was always there for Doc and the kids. She was their number one supporter.

Reba was a member of the First Baptist Church of Boise City, Oklahoma. Reba was very involved in the church. She was a Sunday School teacher for a number of years, sang in the choir, she was very supportive of all the activities of the church.

Reba was preceded in death by one daughter, Carol Sue Wheeler, one son, Everett Glen wheeler, her parents, John and Maude Aderholt, one brother and one sister.

Survivors include: her husband Dr. J.L. Wheeler of Boise City, Oklahoma, three sons, Larry Wheeler and wife Kathy, of Victoria, Texas, Evan Wheeler and wife Sherri of North Pole Alaska and Paul Wheeler of Boise City, Oklahoma, two grandchildren, Matthew Wheeler and John Wheeler, five great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be Saturday, April 9, 2011 at 2:00p.m. at the First Baptist Church, Boise City, Oklahoma with Pastor Ordean Nelson, officiating. Interment will be in the Boise City Cemetery, Boise City, Oklahoma. The family has suggested memorials to either the Cimarron Memorial Hospital or to the First Baptist Church, the may be left in care of the mortuary. Services by Cimarron Mortuary, Boise City, Oklahoma.
