Enlisted in the Confederate Army in February, 1863, at Vicksburg, Mississippi, and captured there. Shortly after the Battle of Chickamauga, he was wounded at Chickamauga Station on the Western and Atlantic Railroad by accidental discharge from one of own men's guns. Disabled and discharged from this wound. Post-war: moved to Chattanooga in 1882, and was employed as a carpenter and farmer. Moved away in 1904, but returned to Chattanooga in 1929. Methodist faith. Died at his residence in East Lake.
Thomas Christopher (some trees also show as Caldwell) Hallman, also spelled as Hollman and Holman, enlisted as a private in Company K, 41st Georgia Infantry, CSA, on February 10, 1863. He was captured at Vicksburg, Mississippi July 4, 1863, and paroled there July 6, 1863. He was then wounded in combat near Lookout Mountain, Tennessee on November 26, 1863.
Thomas and Victoria were married September 30, 1863 in Coweta, Georgia.
