Beda was born June 18, 1925 in Hurley, Missouri daughter of Albee H. and Elsie B. (Baker) Cox.
She was united in marriage to Lawrence L. Wilkes, Sr. on December 24, 1945 in Springfield, Missouri. Shortly after, the couple moved to Warrensburg.
She loved fishing and dancing but most of all she loved Jesus, friends, and small children. So if you would like see her again, or for the first time, accept Jesus as your savior and one day she will greet you in heaven with hugs and kisses. Rejoice in the lord!
Survivors include her son: Lawrence L. "Lee" Wilkes, Jr. and wife, Pamela of Warrensburg; a sister: Josephine Cook of Springfield, Missouri; four grandchildren: Tricia McAdams and husband, Fred of Plattsburg, Missouri; Brian Wilkes and wife, Tiffany of Blue Springs, Missouri; Chester Bollinger of Kansas City, Missouri and Elizabeth Jones and husband, Kevin of Cross Lanes, West Virginia; two step grandchildren: Angela Colhour and husband, Daniel of Warrensburg; and Jody Kendrick, also of Warrensburg; and nine great grandchildren.
Beda was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Lee Wilkes, Sr., an infant son, Lawrence Lewis Wilkes and two sisters: Lena Pallister and Barbara Aleen Cox Roberts.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at Williams Funeral Chapel in Warrensburg with Pastor Bill Runyon of Church of Hope in Centerview officiating.
Interment will follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery in Warrensburg.
