Evelyn Mae Albers, 85 of Center, formally of Holts Summit Mo. passed away Wednesday April 6, 2011 in the comfort of her daughter's home in Jefferson City, after six years of compassion support from her son, his family and the Community of Center. She was born July 21, 1925 in St Louis, the daughter of the late Morton and Ruth (Glen) Orman. On April 26, 1958 she was united in marriage in St Louis to Arnold B Albers, who preceded her in death on March 21, 2005.

Evelyn was a graduate of McKinley High School in St Louis. She was a homemaker and was also eployed with St Elizabeth Hospital in Hannibal Mo. as a housekeeper. Evelyn was a member of St Andrew Catholic Church in Holts Summit. Her greatest joy was caring for her grandchildren. Evelyn was a tiny woman with a great big heart. She demonstated estraordinary kindness, generosity, faith and perseverance throughout her life. Her sweet and loving nature, along with her willful disposition, will be dearly missed by family and friends.

She is survived by one son, Edward Albers and wife Theresa of Center Mo. one daughter Candance )Candy) Smith and husband Britt of Jefferson City, and five grandchildren, Cody Parker and wife Erin, Stephen Albers, Glenn Smith 11, Hannah Smith and Grace Smith. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Debra Albers, in 1986, and six siblings, Ralph Orman, Sonny Orman, Bill Orman, Anne Orman, Deborah Shelby and Margaret Traw.

Friends will be received from 4-7p.m. Monday April 11, 2011 at the Slater Millard Family Funeral Home in Holts Summit where a prayer service will be held at 6;30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10a.m. Tuesday April 12, 2011 at the St Andrew Catholic Church in Holts Summit with Msgr Gregory L. Higley officiating. Interment will follow in St Andrew Catholic Ceetery in Holts Summit.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Holts Summit Soup Kitchen c/o Helen Manson 1734 State Rd. y, New Bloomfield Mo. 65063
