FUNERAL SERVICES HELD FOR MRS. NORMAN COOPER
Last Wednesday, funeral services were held for Mrs. Ada May Cooper, whose sad death occurred Monday evening as the result of an acute attack of appendicitis. The services were opened with prayer by brother Christian Anderson. Music was furnished by the joint ward choir under the direction of F. Earl Stott and a very beautiful violin solo was played by Dr. Maxon. The speakers were Don Wixom, Milton Whitaker, Wm. D. Melville and Bishop Parker Robison. Of the speakers, Milton Whitaker was most intimately acquainted with Mrs. Cooper, being about her age and having known her from early childhood. The personal incidents which he related, bespoke her many good qualities and noble character. The benediction was pronounced by brother F. Alonzo Robison.
The large crowd at the funeral, and the extra large and beautiful floral offerings, showed the deep respect for the deceased, and the sincere sympathy for her family of the whole community. She was known by everyone in Fillmore and many others in the county. A large cortege followed to the cemetery where the grave was dedicated by Bishop Parker Robison.
Mrs. Cooper is survived by her husband, Mr. Norman Cooper and her two little daughters, Quma, age 11 and Norma age 3 years. She is also survived by her parents, Mr. Albert and Mrs. Rosetta Bridges and two sisters, Mrs. Clara Melville and Lila Bridges and one brother, Mr. Herman Bridges.
About two weeks ago, Mrs. Cooper who for several years has not been very strong, was attacked by a very severe case of appendicitis at her home in Pahvant. She was immediately brought to Fillmore for medical attention and it was found that she would have to undergo an operation here inasmuch as her appendix had broken. The very best of medical attention was given her under the circumstances but it seemed that she was unable to ralley. She passed away at the very premature age of 34. The very deepest sympathy is expressed by the people of Fillmore, Pahvant and Hatton, the latter, the place of her birth.
