Rites for Charles Jason Brown 80, Route 4, Marietta, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Salem Baptist Church, Bluffton, Ala. The Rev. Edward E. Kadle will officiate with burial in Salem Cemetery. Dobbins Funeral Home is in charge. Remains will be placed in state at the church from 1 p.m. until the funeral hour. Pallbearers will meet at the church at 1:45 p.m.
Brown died at Kennestone Hospital Wednesday evening after an extended illness. He had spent most of his life near Cedartown, GA. and had made his home in Marietta for the past seven years. He was a retired school teacher.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. T. A. Ellis, Marietta, and five grandchildren. (Marietta Daily Journal, Thursday, March 19, 1959)
