BRUGH, Martha Hooker, 82, of Jamesville, N.Y., and formerly of Botetourt County, Va., died Thursday, December 26, 1996, at Crouse-Irving Memorial Hospital in Syracuse, N.Y., after a brief illness. Mrs. Brugh was born in North Carolina and had lived in Richmond, Va., most of life. She moved to the Syracuse area and lived there for the last seven years. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Richmond, and was also an active member of the Sunshine Circle for the Childrens Hospital in Richmond where she made intricate handcrafted Christmas ornaments to be sold to benefit the hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Goben E. Brugh, and is survived by two daughters and two grandchildren ; several nieces and nephews, and two brothers-in-law, Neville Brugh of Nace, Va., and Latane Brugh of Covington, Va. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, December 30, 1996, at the Rader Daleville Chapel in Daleville, Va., with the Rev. Jim George officiating. Interment will follow in Mill Creek Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Children's Hospital, 2924 Brook Road, Richmond, Va. Arrangements by Rader Funeral Home, Daleville, Va.
