James Greenwell, 78, 748 23rd St., died yesterday after an extended illness.
Mr. Greenwell had worked as meat cutter in butcher shops in the Ogden area for many years.
He was educated in Ogden City schools.
He was a member of the LDS Sixth Ward. He also held membership in the Woodmen of the World.
He was born July 15, 1874, in West Weber, a son of Ambrose and Ellen Shaw Greenwell. On February 19, 1901, he married Rose King in Ogden. Surviving are his widow, Ogden; two daughters, Mrs. G.E. (Rhea) Malan and Mrs. Lee (Alva) Hales, Ogden; three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, one brother, Lee Greenwell, Paul, Idaho: five sisters, Mrs. Mary Farley and Mrs. Maude Ferris, Ogden; Mrs. Lucy Hillard, Los Angeles; Mrs. Polly Mcgowan, Oakland, California, and Mrs Joseph (Louise) Staker, Twinfalls, Idaho.
Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow at 1 p.m. in Larkin Mortuary Chapel, 24th Street and Adams Avenue, Bishop Orlo S. Maw of the LDS Sixth Ward officiating.
Friends may call at the mortuary tonight from 6 to 9 and tomorrow until time of services.
Burial will be in Ogden City Cemetery, Where graveside ritual will be conducted my members of the Ogden Lodge, Woodmen of the World.
