On yesterday evening Mrs. Marian Thomas of Grand Cane, died at her home in that town. She was a native of DeSoto parish, and her family was among the first settlers of this section, and were among our most distinguished citizens, a typical type of the old Southern aristocrats who played a prominent part in the upbuilding of this section.
She leaves one sister, Miss Maud Williams, and one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Fred Jordan of Many, La. She also leaves three grandchildren, two boys and a girl, the children of a deceased son. The family was a large one, and the decedent leaves many more distant relatives.
