Barbara Eunice (Hallock) Goetz, age 86, recently of Nacogdoches, Texas, passed away on the 9th of March at 3:15 in the afternoon of natural causes. She was born September 3rd 1925 in Kent to the late Dorothy Flora (Slocum) and Frederick VanNess Hallock. On VJ Day August 15, 1945 Barbara met George Francis Goetz, a lifelong resident of Danbury, and they married on October 6th 1945. He died April 26th 1973 while an employee ofthe Danbury Public Works Department. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Ann McLain of Nacogdoches, Texas; her grandson, Charles M. Goetz Jr.; great-granddaughters, Rebecca and Kelsey Goetz of Oneonta, N.Y.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Her son, Charles Marcel Goetz, died January 6, 1967 while serving in the Navy. She was predeceased by her siblings, Caroline Ruth Hallock and Frederick Keeler Hallock of Danbury and Silvia Lane Jasmin and Calvin HardingHallock of New Milford. Barbara worked for Risden MFG for many years and also worked in a local laundrybefore retiring. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, April 19th 2011 at 10 a.m. at St Peter's Cemetery (section 8) in Danbury. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation in her honor to the Alzheimer's Association of Connecticut, 2075 Silas Deane Highway, Suite 100, Rocky Hill, CT 06067 Phone 860.828.2828.
