While you are visiting this fairly well preserved burial ground, make note of the poor Durand family, who could not seem to keep any children alive. The long line of white stones toward the front of the cemetery, starting with Andrew and Fannie Durand on the South end, is mostly very young children. Very sad, but typical of the day.
