Mrs. Jackie K. Alexander, age 74 of Vidalia, died Sunday April 10, 2001 in Meadows Regional Medical Center in Vidalia after an extended illness. She was a native of LaGrange, and lived most of her life in Vidalia. She retired as City Clerk from the City of Lyons after 38 years. She was a member of the First Methodist Church of Vidalia, and the Miriam Wheeler Sunday School Class.
Mrs. Alexander is survived by her husband J. C. Alexander of Vidalia; her daughter Lisa Sapp McGahee and Jimmy of Lyons; her son Jeff Sapp of Brunswick; stepsons Michael Alexander and Diane, Mark Alexander and Jennifer and stepdaughter Phyllis Frederick and Brian, all of Vidalia; two grandchildren; Sonny Sapp, Stephanie Sapp Shiver and Chris, three great grandchildren Cealy and Chandler Shiver and Caden Sapp; several step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren; one sister Jo Tankersley of LaGrange; a special niece Gail Royster of Valley, Alabama, and other nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 12th at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend David Blalock officiating. Interment will follow in the Hardens Chapel Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
