Daughter of the late Lt. General Andrew Davis Bruce and Roberta Kennedy Bruce, she was the widow of Claude Kitchin Josey, Sr. She was past president of Sir Walter Cabinet. She was a member Trinity Episcopal Church where her funeral was held on April 5, 2011, with Father Ted Malone officiating. She was survived by her daughter, Roberta Linnell Josey; sons, Claude Kitchin "Joey" Josey, Jr., (Debbie) and Robert Bruce Josey, Sr. (Paula); seven grandchildren, Linnell Vaughan Compton (Chris, Anna Josey Kemp, William Powell Kemp, IV (Miriam), Claude Kitchin Josey, III (Pammy), Everett Logan Josey (Sarah), Robert Bruce Josey, Jr., and John Andrew Josey; two great-grandchildren, Kennedy Linnell Compton and Ava James Kemp. She was a member of the Junion League, Daughters of the King, and Daughters of the American Revolution.
