He married Edythe Gertrude Patton, the daughter of Winfield Scott Patton and Lydia Elnora Sellers in Columbus, Ohio on November 9, 1920. They had five children, two died in infancy; Helen Gertrude, Evelyn Marie, Richard Patton, Raymond Dayre, and Robert Dean Fuller.
