Verna Mae Anna Palm, 71, of Clatskanie, died Aug. 9, 2005. She was born March 23, 1934, in New Leipzig, N.D., to August and Gertrude (Ivarie) Koski and attended schools in Westport, Ore. She married Charlie Palm on June 29, 1951, in Longview and became a homemaker. He preceded her in death Feb. 19, 2001. Mrs. Palm is survived by a son, Charles "Bill" Palm; two daughters, Kathy Palm and Janice Brotherton; three sisters, Beverly Lahti, Emma Kero and Myla Ankrom; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandson. A service will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Haakinson-Groulx Mortuary in Clatskanie. Vault interment will follow the service at Murray Hill Cemetery in Clatskanie. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to service time Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Clatskanie Volunteer Firefighters Association, P.O. Box 807, Clatskanie, OR 97016.
