Services for Harlon Adrian are scheduled for 10:00 am, Thursday, April 14 at Van United Methodist Church with Dr. Mike Deaton officiating. Burial will be in Fairway Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Mr. Adrian passed away at the age of 81 on April 12, 2011 in Grand Saline.

Harlon Jerome Adrian was born November 11, 1929 in Ben Wheeler, Texas to the late Harmon Adrian and Maurine Beggs Adrian. He had been a resident of Van for most of his life, graduating from Van High School in 1947. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. In 1949 He married Clauda Dell Edwards. He and Clauda had Charlotte Jane in 1955 and Pamala Ann in 1958. He worked for Dallas Power & Light Company in Dallas, Gilbert Reeves/Gulf Oil Company in Tyler, and UNOCAL Transportation in Van, which he retired from in 1992. He retired as an electrical supervisor after 38 years of service. More recently, he ran Adrian Refrigeration & Air Conditioning in Van and trained two grandsons, Ryan and Kyle Strickland. He was also blessed with four granddaughters, Adrian and Laura Strickland and Whitney and Christie Nylaan. He is also the son in law of Gertrude Barber. He served as a school board member in VISD and was a trustee in the Van United Methodist Church and was a Mason.

Survivors include his wife, Clauda Adrian of Van; daughters, Charlotte Strickland and husband, Terry of Tyler, Pamala Klingelberger and husband, Curt of Keller; 6 grandchildren, Ryan, Kyler, Adrian, Laura, Whitney and Christi; 4 great-grandchildren, Jacob, Abigail, Matthew and Jackson.

Pallbearers will be Ryan Strickland, Kyle Strickland, Terry Strickland, Curt Klingelberger, Scott Patillo and V. L. Davidson.
Members of his Sunday School class will serve as honorary pallbearers.


If desired, memorials may be made to the Van United Methodist Church.

Visitation will be held from 6-8, Wednesday night at the funeral home.
