Asa A. Bates
Asa A. Bates, 69, of Patten, died Sunday at an Island Falls hospital after a long illness.
He was born at Hersey on September 7, 1895, the son of George and Laura Mitchell Bates.
Surviving are his wife, Ronella of Patten, two daughters, Mrs. Ada Gallagher of Mt. Chase and Mrs. Jeanette Gallagher of Hersey, two sons, Keith and Kelton, both of Patten; two brothers, Grayden of Hersey, and Vane of Augusta, a sister Ada Bates of Smyrna Mills, and nine grandchildren.
Funeral services were condusted Wednesday afternoon from the Pentecostal Church in Patten with the Rev James Gray officiating.
Burial was in Batesville Cemetery in Hersey.
